MATCHING PRINTS OF VARIOUS PATTERNS AND COLOURS

Thinking of prints, my mind starts to sing that famous old song by Dolly Patton that goes something like "...in my coat of many colours...my mama made for me". Do you remember the song. Lovely vintage song, but an easy referral to our post for today.  Growing up we've all had those moments when your mom wants you to wear that outfit made from the remnants of her Ankara, George or Wax prints.  That outfit of many colours literarily.  lol.  For mom's sake we wear it and walk down the street to be laughed at by our peers.  Well those days are over now as I introduce you to 5 tips for matching prints of various colours to give you that bombshell look in your coat of many colours your mama made for you.
1.   Pattern merge - it: this is mixing prints that have similar patterns. A way of playing with patterns and coming out well. E.g. polka dots on polka dots, stripes on stripes ,etc. You can also try large prints on small prints, this strikes a balance and gives a very beautiful contrast.

2.   Same colour characterised: blend prints that have the same colour characteristics or looks like they have the same colour characteristics on them. The third eye automatically picks up these multi-coloured fabrics and places them together.

3.   Roar or Mew like Katey Perry.   Or is it Purry lol.  Whether its Perry or Purry, blending animal prints can be an interesting adventure. Depending on if you are a small or BIG cat, You can mix them with either a plain fabric or with an entirely different animal print and mew or ROAR!. Rihanna killed it here...what a ROAR! lol

The type of animal print may also differ like the sample below...and Yes! she is fabulous. ROAR!

4.   Dare: Try the major contrast fashion mix. This is for the fashionista that has got the b..ls to say Yeah am hot and I know it!, if you know what I mean. lol. Matching two entirely different patterns and 2 or more colours on each other at the same time requires some b..ls literarily.  You need to be bold and beautiful to take this dare. Sometimes a major contrast is needed to create the necessary blend. But please in all you do, dare with a sense of style.

These 2 sure know how to dare lol

So there you have it Musers...go forth, create, explore freely, it’s a free world after all. Chigasu and Yb were very close to nailing this from the Eye Candy Guess What game 3,  they'll definitely get something but but not the main price... Better luck next time ladies. LOL. Questions, suggestions and contributions are always welcome. Enjoy the rest of your  holiday and forth coming weekend, HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY NIGERIA!
