HOW TO LOOK HEAVENLY GORGEOUS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

Weddings, Unions, Jumping over the broom or simply starting a  brand new existence with that awesome person whom you've chosen to spend the rest of your life... it always starts with ONE day. That day you probably have dreamt of since you were a wee little girl eyeballing that little boy down the road. A day that has been hyped by all sorts of communication media like Ovations magazine or the Bisi Olatilo Show (BOS), to be a time to showcase yourself as that heavenly bride. A day that would happen... Glamorous or NOT. "Here Comes The Bride"... how would you like to be remembered?

Looking great on your wedding day means being radiant, relaxed and ready to live that dream... a dream we've had since we were kids... waking up that  morning, dressing up and looking very gorgeous and heavenly in that long white flowing gown, walking down that red carpeted aisle arm in dad’s arm smiling at the guests around. Then looking into your Prince charming's eyes and saying those life changing and binding words... I DO.... Okay wake up Luch! Sorry guys, I’m up (yawns) LOL.
Real deal is you  just have to glow on your wedding day, like it or not because the photos taken on that day stays for a life time. Besides its your day so you MUST look your best. So here are a few tips that would help you achieve that required look.

5 Sure Fire Tips to get you that Gorgeous Picture Perfect Bride look.

" A fit and healthy body is the best type of fashion statement" - Jess C. Scott

 1.     Get a Heavenly Glowing Skin for your Wedding Day
keeping fit and watching our eating habits generally is something most health books, TV shows or health websites would advice to keep us healthy, because your health comes first before anything else. We all know how hard it is to maintain such healthy regimens so for those of us who aren't keen on the work-out - keep- fit theory YOU should at least abide by these health tips a few weeks to your  big day. Like Jess says, no dress, accessories, shoes, hair etc is more important than a glowing body. So ... solution? Carry out these simple and short dieting routine that comprises of all  the anti-inflammatory diet, which consists of food and beverages that help maintain normal insulin and low sugar level.

a.  Eat high quality protein such as poultry, shell fish and fish e.g salmon etc. Gives a great skin glow. Omega-3 capsules can also do a good job as it is a fish oil supplement.
b.  Avoid high glycemic carbohydrate, make do with the less carb content foods such as whole grains and legumes.
c.  Vegetables and fruits should be your best pals. Eat lots of them.
d.  Don’t leave out fat because you sure need to eat a balanced diet. Make do with the low fat foods such as nuts, seeds and olive oil.
e.  Avoid fizzy drinks completely (MOST IMPORTANTLY). Drink more of green tea and water instead. 6-8 glasses of water daily.

2.     Choose that Drop Dead Gorgeous Wedding Dress

As mush as fashion has evolved, it hasn't gone too far from making choices between shades of white for a wedding dress. This narrows it down dramatically thank goodness, so what do we consider in choosing that dress. Ball gown, or trendy fit, short or long. Truth is the choice is yours based on whatever dreams you've had in your mind on how this special day is to look.

You can have it as a dolled-up Cinderella wedding dress like Tiwa Savage- Balogun

Or leave it simple like Toke Makinwa- Ayida

However, I will refer you back to my previous post on choosing an outfit as a wedding guest as a start off point on how to choose outfits.  Once you've noted those advices, these two points should help you make a great choice.

a. Choose your dress well in advance, your dress is one of the most important items in your wedding plans. No body really remembers the food lol. Endeavor to take enough time to choose one that suits you perfectly, don’t choose to please your sister, or mummy, or friend, not even your wedding planner.
b. Do not choose what is trending without considering how it looks on you or how comfortable you feel in it. After all, come that day you’ll want a dress in which you can stand, walk and dance in without worrying about discomforts or wardrobe malfunction. You know you really have to dance right? That's how to get all the money spray.

3.   Take Care of Your Hair and Make up
The wedding morning isn’t the best time to try out hair styles and make up. The style should have been picked out a long time ago. If you’re brunette don’t go blonde on that day. If you don’t wear long nails, don’t decide to wear extra long acrylics on your day.  Don’t even try the fluttery fake lashes if you have  never worn them before. Keep things very close to your personal comfort zone. Plan your look ahead of time to eliminate unnecessary stress on that day – you don’t need even a pinch of it- stress.

This drag queen won't have a thing on you if you don't prepare ahead of time. Lol

4.    'Shoegasm' and accessories - Be Moderate
Avoid very high heeled or tight shoes on your day. Okay if you enjoy ‘shoegasm’ ( love shoes a lot) or you are height impaired and would love to be seen tall, have yourself wear a high heeled one for the cameras then change into a lower one later on. You don’t need any form of discomfort... not from an overtly high or tight shoes, trust me.
Heavy accessories should be avoided as well. Your dress is already heavy enough. No extra baggage needed.

5.    Don't Knock Yourself Out the Night Before
To look heavenly gorgeous on your wedding day you just have to prepare in advance to feel your best. The night before isn't time for partying or staying up late gisting with your maids. Get at least 8 hours of restful sleep. If you plan on having a bachelorette bash, do it a week or days before that day so it doesn't come in your way of restful night before the D-day. Drink light alcohol or better yet, don’t have at all. Blood shot eyes and banging hang over isn't what you’ll want to experience. You don’t want your mother in-law giving you those suspicious stares. Trust our African mother in-laws. Lmao.

Also don’t gorge yourself the night before, you never know what strange forces might be at work in your tummy and can decide to keep you in that small room longer than you planned. Lol.
A light dinner in the early evening after which you go in for a relaxing bath with the soothing voice of John Legend giving your ears the sweet sound of "all of me" in the background, sipping your herbal tea. With this you go to bed with images of a happy future marriage in your dreams.

These tips should guide you in achieving that aim of looking heavenly gorgeous on that special day you have always dreamt about and longed for. Kim Kardashian and kanye West won't have a thing on a very comfortable and relaxed you and your 'knight in shining amour' come your big day. Hehe.

To my friends Ify, Bubuz, Luchi, Kate, Sharon, Imoni, Dorcas, Sandra, Tina, Oge and all other brides-to-be... wishing you all a Happy Married Life from Musings of Luch.
